One belief sits at the heart of my practice:
“The greatest flaw in modern education is not what it teaches, but what it neglects: it prepares us to understand the world, while leaving us strangers to ourselves.”
In today’s fast-paced world, we are rarely given the time or opportunity to truly explore and understand ourselves. Even when we do, making sense of our inner world can feel confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes frightening. It can leave us feeling isolated, believing that no one could possibly understand us. After all, “How could anyone understand me if I don’t fully understand myself?”
Life is full of painful, confusing and traumatic experiences that can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, fearful, isolated, or simply lost. These experiences can disconnect us from who we are, making us feel trapped, holding us back from becoming the person we long to be and from embracing the joy, peace and fulfilment that life can offer.
Many of us also struggle to speak openly about what we are experiencing, even with those who love us most. We worry about being judged, misunderstood or rejected. We ask ourselves, “What would they think if they knew how I really felt?” As a result, we often carry our struggles alone.
A space where every part of you is welcome
Therapy offers a confidential, accepting and non-judgemental space where you are free to speak openly and honestly about whatever is on your mind – perhaps for the very first time.
As a person-centred counsellor, I won’t tell you who to be or which path to take. Instead, I will walk alongside you as a companion, offering empathy, acceptance and understanding as you explore your inner world. Together, we can make sense of the parts of yourself that may feel confusing, helping you reconnect with your own strength, clarity and capacity for growth.
I believe that, given the right environment, every person has the potential to move towards a more fulfilling and authentic life. Sometimes, all we need is someone willing to truly listen and walk beside us.

Starting counselling
What is person-centred counselling?
It is an approach that trusts you as the expert on your own life. Rather than giving advice or following a set programme, I offer a relationship built on genuine understanding, acceptance and empathy, so that you can explore what matters to you and find your own way forward.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no set number. Some people prefer to agree a number in advance; others prefer to take things one step at a time and review as we go. It is entirely your choice, and we can talk about it whenever you like.
What happens in the free introduction?
It is a relaxed 30-minute call or visit with no obligation. You can tell me a little about what brings you, ask any questions, and get a feel for whether working together feels right.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults aged 18 and over.
Is it confidential?
Yes. What you share is treated as confidential, with a small number of limits that I explain before we begin. You can read more on the Confidentiality & Privacy page.
A free 30-minute introduction
Before we begin, you are welcome to a free, no-obligation 30-minute call or visit. It is a chance to ask questions, see how it feels to talk with me, and decide whether working together is right for you.
