My approach

Met with understanding, acceptance and empathy

I am a person-centred counsellor whose work is guided by the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing and change when they are met with genuine understanding, acceptance and empathy.

Creating a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space is at the heart of everything I do. It is a place where you can speak openly, explore difficult emotions and experiences, and simply be yourself without fear of criticism or expectation.

The founder of the person-centred approach, Carl Rogers, wrote a book titled A Way of Being. For me, that title perfectly captures what therapy is really about. It is not simply a set of techniques or interventions, but a way of relating to another human being with authenticity, compassion and respect.

My journey

Training and experience

Throughout my life, I have found that people naturally felt comfortable sharing their deepest thoughts and feelings with me. That experience inspired me to develop this ability professionally, leading me to spend four years training as a counsellor and graduating with a Foundation Degree in Person-Centred Counselling in 2024. I am also a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), working in accordance with its professional standards and Ethical Framework.

Alongside my counselling training, I have spent more than twenty-five years studying Eastern philosophy. While my therapeutic practice is firmly rooted in the person-centred approach, this lifelong interest has enriched my understanding of human nature, self-awareness and the different ways people experience life and suffering. Together, these perspectives have shaped the compassionate and reflective way I work with my clients.

I have now completed several hundred hours of one-to-one counselling, supporting people through a wide range of experiences including anxiety, depression, bereavement, life transitions, historic trauma, fear, relationship difficulties and emotional distress.

I do not believe that people need to be “fixed”.

Rather, I believe that within the right therapeutic relationship, people can begin to understand themselves more deeply, reconnect with who they are, and discover their own capacity to move forward. My role is not to tell you who to become, but to walk alongside you as you discover that for yourself.

If you are feeling lost, overwhelmed, or simply curious about understanding yourself more deeply, I would be honoured to walk alongside you on that journey.
