I offer counselling in four ways, so that we can find whatever fits you best. We can also move between them if your circumstances change. Every session lasts 60 minutes.
Home visits
Home visits take place in your own home, at a time we agree together. It helps if we can use a quiet room, free from interruptions, for the full length of the session. If this isn’t possible on a particular day, just let me know as soon as you can and we can rearrange.
Walk & Talk
Walk & Talk counselling takes place outdoors, in a location we agree together in advance. Walking side by side can make it easier to talk. It isn’t right for every session or every topic, and we can always move online or to the phone if it doesn’t suit you on a particular day. Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.
Telephone counselling
Telephone sessions can take place wherever suits you, provided you are somewhere private and free from interruption for the full session. I will always call from a private location at my end.
Online counselling
Video sessions work in the same way – please make sure you have a private space and a stable connection. If we lose connection, I will reconnect, or phone you to finish the session. Online and telephone counselling is available to clients living in the UK.

Lone-working safety
Because I work alone, I follow a lone-working check-in procedure, as recommended by the BACP, for home visits and Walk & Talk sessions. A trusted Safety Contact, who is a registered mental health nurse bound by professional confidentiality, is told only the address or meeting place and the times I expect to arrive and leave – never your name or anything about our counselling – and these details are deleted once I have checked out.
I will explain this fully before our first session and ask for your agreement.
Working together
- A free 30-minute introductory call or visit first
- Before we begin, a written agreement explaining confidentiality, fees and how we will work
- 60-minute sessions, at times we agree together
- No set number of sessions – you decide, and we review together
- Sessions are never recorded, in any form
- You can end counselling at any time; where possible we’ll talk it through first
A free 30-minute introduction
Before we begin, you are welcome to a free, no-obligation 30-minute call or visit. It is a chance to ask questions, see how it feels to talk with me, and decide whether working together is right for you.
